March 9, 2017 Meeting

We had a very interesting speaker at our meeting this month. She admits she’s not a quilter, and yet, she makes quilts. She makes quilts out of wood and paint. Her name is Cheryl Gardiner, and her business is called Gardiner’s GateShe produces pieces that range from 18 inches, suitable for handing on a goat or a door or a shed, all the way up to 8 feet, that hang on barns. She brought a sample of some of her pieces, which I was able to photograph. The rest of her presentation was a powerpoint slide show, which doesn’t photograph well. There are lots more photos on her web page, though.                                       After her presentation, we had our member show and tell. Unfortunately, I was sitting off to the side a bit too much, so some of the photos aren’t the greatest. Micki A brought a wonderful scrappy quilt, which I believe she said she was donating.
Carol V. brought her finished Flip and Sew project she started in a Jacqui Gering workshop the guild held a few years ago.
Anne L. brought a sweet baby quilt with the cutest elephant on it.
Maureen H. brought her finished leaders/enders Tumbler quilt.
Linda W. brought her finished Snowy Days quilt. There is all kinds of beautiful embroidery on it which the pictures unfortunately don’t show.
Charlene O brought a finished plus sign quilt.
